Footy Show host Kane Cornes set rival Mark Ricciuto on fire in a live ride over the so-called “ridiculous rumors” surrounding the Port Adelaide gun Charlie Dixon.
Cornes said Sunday his former club Port Adelaide was “dirty” privately after Ricciuto alleged Dixon tried to leave the club.
Ricciuto spoke on his radio show Triple M Adelaide on Monday about Dixon being followed by the Brisbane Lions, who have offered the star striker a four-year deal.

Dixon asked questions about his Lions connections this week and refused to answer directly to questions about his future.
However, Cornes reported Sunday that Dixon had told power he intended to agree to terms of a contract extension in a deal. Cornes claims will be announced from Port Adelaide over the next two weeks.
When Cornes revealed Dixon’s potential new deal with Port Adelaide, he also put his boot in long-time sparring partner Ricciuto.
Cornes went on to suggest that it was inappropriate for Ricciuto, now the Adelaide Crows’ football director, to bring his claims to the public.
“Nice to see Charlie Dixon back in shape. And it was a great opportunity for him to rediscover the form he was in the first half of the season, ”Cornes told Channel 9 Sunday Footy Show.
“He was sharp, I think he played frustrated in the last few weeks. The conversation is that he has re-signed with the club and it will be announced in the next 14 days, despite the ridiculous rumors from Adelaide board member Mark Ricciuto that he would sign a four-year deal in Brisbane.
“He will stay in Port Adelaide and played like a footballer who was pretty happy yesterday.”
Host Tony Johns then stepped in and said, “A little drive past there”.
Cornes did not deny it.
“And rightly you have a rival club footy director spreading rumors and innuendos that Charlie Dixon is going to sign in Brisbane, and a week later (Port Adelaide coach) Ken Hinkley comes out and says he’s back for hired the club. It’s not Roo’s best moment again, I would have thought.
He said of Port Adelaide: “Behind the scenes they are dirty, they have not said anything publicly, but they are not happy behind the scenes.”
Essendon legend Matthew Lloyd supported Cornes’ blow.
“I’m with Kane, making rumors that being a footy director isn’t the best thing to do.”
Cornes also attacked Ricciuto on Monday.
“But for the club he is involved with, he would be the worst club in the AFL for maybe 50 years. I would have thought that they would have enough concerns of their own,” he said Footy classified.
“To say it’s strange that a good player isn’t signed up like Charlie Dixon, Brad Crouch isn’t signed up either. He’s the reigning best and fairest winner in the Crows.
“So if I had any advice for ‘Roo’, it would be worrying that your club would come out of the chaos at 12am to 1pm. and I’m not worried about rumors that have been around since he made them this morning. “
