According to the German Bild, the agreement between Vettel and Aston Martin (now Racing Point) is about to be signed. There has also been speculation that it is to be announced in early August.
According to Motorsport Total, Lawrence Stroll invited Vettel to Gstaad, Switzerland, where he presented him with a contract to sign. But Vettel has not yet decided whether he wants to race for Aston Martin from next year.
The four-time world champion has basically no other at least a little quality option to stay in F1. Nevertheless, there is still speculation about his possible return to Red Bull if Alexander Albon did not perform well.
AlphaTauri boss Franz Tost thinks Vettel may not have the Red Bull door completely closed. On the contrary, Gerhard Berger doubts this and adds that Red Bull is always looking for young, aggressive riders who have a future ahead of them.
If Vettel went to Aston Martin, he would replace Sergio Pérez. According to Bild, Racing Point can terminate his contract by the end of July.
