Jose Mourinho does not expect a rapid transfer activity, but believes that Tottenham is moving in the right direction and will close the window with a “better and more balanced team”.
“A new player on Monday would be incredible news, but I think it’s just the opening of the window,” boss Spurs told reporters ahead of Sunday’s clash with Crystal Palace.
“I think we are going in the right direction, very calm, organized, thinking well, measured. I think we are going in the right direction.
“We know what we can and cannot do, we know which directions we can and cannot follow. We must not be reactive. We are very balanced, together and we have no doubts about what we need and what is possible.
“Step by step, we will end up with a better and more balanced team. Of course, keeping the great players we have is very important.”
