“Those who love me will still love me, others will always soap the board”

INTERVIEW – The usual French speaking driver is starting his 10th season in F1 this weekend in Austria. An exercise necessarily apart, upset by the Covid-19.

Before joining Austria for the start of the Formula 1 season on Sunday and a very busy summer ahead, Romain Grosjean took advantage of his last days of family peace at home in Switzerland. Relaxed and serene despite the unprecedented context of this post-containment recovery, the tricolor driver with ten podiums in the queen of competitions evokes for Le Figaro this exercise like no other.

LE FIGARO. – With three and a half months behind schedule, the F1 season begins this weekend in Austria. Are you in a hurry?

Romain GROSJEAN. – It tickles a little yes. It’s great to be able to resume even if this season promises to be different from the others. It will be a little strange to do two races in a row on the same circuit (July 5 and 12 in Spielberg) and without an audience. But the main thing is to be able to run. This season promises to be special, with this sprint launched this weekend
