The wild 2020 season begins with a reserved victory for the Rangers

The MLB baseball season 2020 started tonight for the Texas Rangers, the first official baseball game at The Shed. It will never be normal to look back at this, but we will remember forever that the Rangers opened their new park with a 1-0 win under some of the most bizarre circumstances in the history of the sport while they were there dared to get no-hit.

Frankly, that fits the Texas Rangers franchise.

Your scales first:

We have to wait for this first donger.

Player of the game: Lance Lynn started where he left off last season, but with a bigger beard, a few pounds more, and a few command problems to iron out. Although he ran four Rockies, he also hit nine and survived six innings of baseball with two goals and shutout.

The Rangers in 2020 will typically only win baseball games if their rotation keeps them in the games. The runs could be rare, so the pitching just has to be better than the other guys.

That’s exactly what Lynn did tonight (plus a trio of Jesse Chavez, Jonathan Hernandez, and Leclerc penned), and the Rangers showed the blueprint a bit.

Next: The Rangers and Rockies meet for the second game in this series. LHP Mike Minor will compete against RHP Jon Gray for Colorado against Texas. The first place from The Shed is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CT.
