In a recent interview on CBS Sports Radio’s “The Zach Gelb Show”, Lewis was asked about his reaction to the Packers’ decision to use the 26th overall pick over a quarterback, and let’s just say that his jaw hit the ground.

“I was shocked, like everyone else,” said Lewis. “But they don’t pay me to be the general manager.”

Despite the controversial choice, Lewis still expects team chemistry to be as good in 2020 as in 2019.

Another player in the Packers locker room who was definitely surprised by the choice was Rodgers, who admitted in May that he could no longer finish his career at Green Bay as he originally planned. Although Rodgers is forced to train with his potential replacement every day, Lewis does not think that the former quintessential NFL player will let him become a distraction.

“You just give up,” said Lewis. “The things you can’t control is water on the back of a duck. Do the best job you can to control the things you can control and let the universe do the rest.
