Tennis: Novak Djokovic becomes negative at Covid-19

A negative test return that does good to Novak Djokovic. The world number 1 announced that he and his wife were no longer positive for Covid-19. “Novak and Jelena did not feel any symptoms and were tested after prior consultation with the doctors,” said his press service.

Self-confined with his family since his return from Zadar (Croatia), the tennis player made a donation of 40,000 euros to Novi Pazar, a Serbian town heavily affected by the Coronavirus.

The world number 1 was the fourth player tested positive at Covid-19 after having participated in the Adria Tour, an exhibition tournament organized by the Serb in his country and in Croatia. Borna Coric, Viktor Troicki and Grigor Dimitrov, were also infected.

The organizer of the Adria Tour had attracted the wrath of the tennis world for not having respected barrier gestures. Very few spectators wore masks. Some players had been seen kissing over the net, playing basketball and even dancing in a nightclub the week before in Belgrade.

The Serb should quickly resume the training path with a view to resuming the circuit in mid-August.
