It is not yet clear whether Sergio Perez can compete this weekend at the Great Britain GP in Silverstone. The Mexican is in isolation after a corona test with no clear result. This reports his team Racing Point, where Stoffel Vandoorne is a test driver.
Perez was missing on Thursday from the drivers’ press conference at the Silverstone circuit. “Pending the result of a second corona test, he is in self-insulation,” said his Racing Point team. “The result of the first test did not give a decisive result.”
If Perez cannot come into action next weekend, Racing Point can throw Stoffel Vandoorne in front of the lions. He is, next to Esteban Gutierrez, one of the reserve drivers of the team.
There is little chance that it will become Vandoorne, he is currently preparing for the end of the Formula E championship, in which he is currently 6th.
