Borussia Mönchengladbach: Fans can pick up “cardboard mates”

Dhe “cardboard mates” in the Borussia Park will soon be history: the creative action of the Borussia Mönchengladbach fan project will end in August. The association called on the fans to “dismantle their doppelgangers in Borussia Park up to and including Sunday, August 16, and take them home with them from next Monday”.

The campaign started in the corona crisis and met with great interest. More than 22,000 Gladbach fans took part in this and, despite the spectator exclusion after the Bundesliga restart, ensured a “stadium load factor” of over a third.

For 19 euros, fans could have a cardboard lookalike made. Local companies affected by the corona crisis will also benefit from the campaign. The club also understood the action as a vigil, since fans were part of football, emphasized Borussia’s fan representative Thomas Weinmann.

All figures not picked up will be disposed of by the Gladbacher Supporters Club.
