The 2019-20 NBA season has officially returned. On Thursday evening, Utah Jazz opened the action with an impressive 106-104 victory over the New Orleans pelicans. Below 16, the Jazz reacted in the second half and resisted the victory after Brandon Ingram’s late attempt from beyond the bow did not fall.
But while basketball is important, action on the pitch is also important. As expected, both teams knelt for the national anthem before the game. The players also warmed up in shirts with the words “Black Lives Matter” and the coaches of both teams wear special patches on the shirts.
Jordan Clarkson stepped off the bench to lead the Jazz with 23 points. His energy and ability to get into the paint was the key to bringing Utah back into play. Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley each added 20 points. The pelicans were led by Brandon Ingram, who went 23 points and eight rebounds.
