Robin van Persie greets Bukayo Saka after the extraordinary turn of Arsenal

Former Arsenal captain Robin van Persie said goodbye to Bukayo Saka after his extraordinary successful season in North London.

The eighteen year old has been a mainstay of Mikel Arteta’s team since the Spaniard replaced his compatriot Unai Emery in December, having also gained opportunities with the former.

This has seen Saka widely considered the best Arsenal graduate by former captain Cesc Fabregas, with the teenager leaning to become a star at the Emirates Stadium.

Van Persie has now spoken of his admiration for the young wing, which he believes offers a wide range of talents by his side.

“If you point out Saka, I’m a huge fan of his. He can play as a defender, he can play in midfield, striker, not the main striker but on the pitch,” he told BT Sport.

“He is a talented player who can offer assists, goals, he is a joy to watch.”

Saka enjoyed an extraordinary season, scoring three goals and contributing 10 assists in 33 appearances in all competitions.
