Guedes reconciles Valencia with football

Soccer needs to touch fiber to move masses. It should be hot and not cold. The League is back, but it runs the risk of becoming depersonalized. Without public, with too much VAR, with changes and refreshment stops. The soul of the king sport seems in danger. But sometimes, a ride that tastes of the past appears, which gives off a romantic aroma, remembering that the essence of the game has not changed.

There are goals that make fans. There are plays that make the viewer (or viewer now) get up from their seat (or sofa). There are actions worth paying for admission (or a subscription). Gonçalo Guedes reconciled post-Covid soccer with soccer of a lifetime. The Portuguese scored the goal that any Valencianista would like to see and live in Mestalla. He did it without an audience to pull him out, without being able to celebrate with the stands, without people shouting genius or monster at him. One of the League’s goals came on a desolate stage. But even then the work was not tarnished.

Play to lift from the seat

The winger dribbled to four rivals before scoring for the scrutiny and made peace with the usual football

Guedes was enough to leave the Osasuna wide open and give Valencia their first victory after the return of the competition. He did it with a spectacular slalom in which he dribbled four red rivals before sending the ball to Rubén’s squad. There was no way to stop the Portuguese career. He started with such power that they even stumbled and got up and kept the ball under control, leaving in his wake a trail that the play should end well and he should finish it. And he did. When he reached the edge of the area, tired but grown, he placed a whiplash that successfully completed his feat.

The promising Portuguese, at 23, drags the footballer vitola halfway. It is not unfair because between injuries and disconnections, this season had not yet scored. This time he embroidered it from start to finish.

Again the VAR

Rodrigo saw how the video canceled the second goal in four days for another millimeter offside

Valencia needed that much. Especially after the VAR annulled Rodrigo’s goal in Valdebebas and the video arbitration, after three minutes of deliberation, intervened again yesterday to leave without prize the Spanish-Brazilian striker who had returned to overtake the Celades team. Like against Madrid, another decision by centimeters frustrated Rodrigo. Two goals annulled in four days support anyone.

But then came Guedes’ goal, which serves to make peace. Although the VAR was also reviewing the play by possible hands from the end when it was about to fall and leaned on the grass. Parejo did not understand anything. But finally the goal went up to the scoreboard and affected Osasuna’s spirit.

At last

Guedes attended the Spanish-Brazilian race, which marked 2-0 with a subtle touch

And more because later Guedes himself recovers a ball in the midfield and assists Rodrigo to mark the second with a subtle touch with the left foot that stunned Rubén. Finally the tip screamed. Finally Valencia exclaimed. Finally Mestalla would have roared, where Osasuna, one of the teams that has not yet won in the return, tried to get into the game until the end but misses Chimy Ávila too much.
