(Reuters) – Brighton & Hove Albion’s only focus is on Tuesday’s Premier League opponent, Manchester United, and they aren’t worried about the prospect of a relegation battle at the end of the season, manager Graham Potter said on Monday.

Brighton is 15th overall with 33 points, six points above the relegation zone, and there are still seven games left – including the games against champions Liverpool and second-placed Manchester City next month.

Potter said Brighton has been in high spirits throughout the season despite some poor results and will compete against Sixth United, who is unbeaten in 14 games in all competitions.

“We don’t think about how many points we need or not at this point to be sure,” Potter told reporters in a virtual press conference.

“We are playing against one of the best teams in the league. We will keep trying to collect points until the end of the season.”

United defeated Brighton 3-1 in the second leg in November, and Potter said his team had been “well beaten” at Old Trafford.

He added that central defender Adam Webster has doubts after his thigh injury in the first half in a goalless draw in Leicester City last week, while right-back Tariq Lamptey is available after a stab in the mouth.

“Adam Webster has made good progress, but we’re waiting for him,” Potter said. “He’ll be up to date tomorrow, he’s the only one missing from the Leicester game.
