Arsenal presents a formal offer to sign a 24-year-old star while Arteta watches the replacement of Ozil | Football Talk

Arsenal has submitted a formal offer to sign Enis Bardhi but will face stiff competition for the signing of midfielder Levante this summer, reportedly in Spain via Mirror.

Mikel Arteta is expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer as he tries to review the team he inherited from Unai Emery and strengthening his midfield has become a priority for the Arsenal boss.

Mesut Ozil’s future is seriously in doubt as he has fallen out of favor after enduring an extremely disappointing campaign and the German director has yet to play a single minute of football since football resumed earlier this month.

Matteo Guendouzi could also head to the exit door at the Emirates stadium after another break with Arteta, so boss Gunners is expected to sign at least one new midfielder this summer and Bardhi has emerged as a target.

It seems that we have now intensified our interest in the 24 year old as Mirror are quoting a report from Sports Wave which claims that Arsenal has now submitted a formal opening offer for Bardhi’s services.

The Spanish radio show does not reveal specific figures, but suggest that Arsenal will face competition for Bardhi’s signing with Fiorentina chasing the midfielder, while there is also interest from Germany.

The Macedonian international joined Levante from Ujpest three years ago with an agreement worth just over £ 1 million and proved to be a great success having become an important first-team regular at the Ciutat de Valencia stadium.

Known for his threat from penalties, Bardhi has contributed 16 goals and 10 assists in his 96 appearances in all competitions for Levante while he is also a regular for Macedonia internationally.

Bardhi is comfortable playing in central midfield or on the left wing, so he could be considered a potential replacement for Ozil if Arsenal could somehow find a buyer for the former Real Madrid star this summer.

It remains to be seen how Levante will respond to Arsenal’s offer, but Bardhi still has two years for his contract and the Spanish side has the possibility to extend another two years, so they are in a strong negotiating position.
