4th National Bar & Bench Badminton Championship Concludes in New Delhi
The fourth edition of the National Bar & Bench Badminton Championship wrapped up its two-day run on Sunday at the Thyagraj Sports Complex in New Delhi, drawing approximately 400 lawyers and legal professionals from across the country to the courts.
Tournament Organization and Objectives
Held on August 8 and 9, the championship was organized and sponsored by Deka Events in association with the Lawyers Badminton Association, according to event announcements.
Competitions spanned multiple categories, giving members of the legal community from different regions a chance to interact away from courtrooms through competitive sport. Ms. Abantika Deka, Founder of Deka Events, thanked the participants, supporters, and organizing team during the closing proceedings for ensuring the smooth execution of the matches.
High-Profile Attendance at the Closing Ceremony
The tournament drew several prominent figures from the judiciary and bar associations for its final events. R. Gavai, attended the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest, according to event records.
Other distinguished attendees included Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tej Pratap Tiwari, Judge of the Allahabad High Court; Mr. Vikas Singh, President of the Supreme Court Bar Association; Ms. Pinky Anand, Judge in Bahrain; Mr. Sacchin Puri, Vice President of the Delhi High Court Bar Association; Mr. Devvrat, President of the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA); Mr. Nikhil Jain; Mr. Rohit from SCAORA; and Ms. Vidhi, Member of the Delhi High Court Bar Association.

Reflecting on the turnout, organizers noted that the strong participation highlights a growing appetite for athletic and recreational engagement among legal professionals. Deka Events announced plans to continue staging the championship in future years, with an explicit aim to expand the tournament into an even larger national platform for members of the Bar and Bench.
