The competition advances for the first teams of the Montilla Basketball Club, adding two wins out of three possible on this day. Regarding Agus Leiva’s team, the 56-39 victory against the ADEBA team serves as balm for the Montillanas after the latest results, recharging their optimism for the coming days.
Meanwhile, David Gómez’s pupils visualized both sides of the coin. In the first instance, the Montillanos were defeated by the leader, the Ciudad de Córdoba Basketball Club, by a resounding 77-43. Later, in the second duel played, a hard-fought 82-73 victory against the Promesas Pozoblanco Foundation returned a wine team to the path of victory that remains in fourth qualifying position.

The game played by the senior women of the Montilla Basketball Club had improved sensations. The first few moments would be local dominance in scoring, with slight advantages on the scoreboard throughout the quarter until reaching the final stretch. At that moment, several consecutive plays completed successfully in attack allowed the advantage to be extended to +9 for the Montillanas.
The second quarter confirmed what was previously experienced, seeing an AVATEL Montilla active in defense, and with freshness in the offensive area. The numbers would increase, with success from the free throw and the zone being the key aspects to reach 30-13 on the scoreboard at the arrival of half-time.
After going through the locker room, the third period would be the most even. Both teams alternated scoring on each hoop, with no clear dominant being detected. The local team managed to keep the distance on the scoreboard, patiently managing the passing of the minutes.
Already in the last quarter, a 7-0 partial in the middle of said period left the contest practically doomed. Despite the scoring not being so fluid and a final push by the visiting team, Agus Leiva’s players maintained their good work and reached the final 56-37, winning all the sets of the match as a significant fact.

Clear defeat of the senior men’s team on their trip to the capital. In a match from more to less, David Gómez’s pupils maintained the level during the first act, their performance falling as the minutes passed until finally succumbing to the undefeated leader of the category.
The start would be alternate in the electronic, with Come & Pizza Montilla capable of counteracting the local offensive power with a patient game that allowed them to see shooting options. Despite this, the success from the perimeter by the caliphs caused the first differences on the electronic side.
In the second act, the percentage of success on baskets increased on both sides. However, another run of outside scores extended the advantage to +15 in favor of Club Baloncesto Ciudad de Córdoba.
After passing through the locker room, the options disappeared for the Montillanos. The success in the inside game, added to the points from the free throw line, made the lead increase to over thirty points. The intensity in defense was not enough to counteract an increasingly inspired rival.
With everything decided, the last quarter would be the least productive, with two teams that showed more errors than successes. The pace was lower, both the defenses and attacks were less dynamic and time ran in favor of the capital’s team until victory was achieved.
