Athletic Club and West Ham United have reached a formal agreement for the loan of left-back Adama Boiro through the end of the season. Born in Dakar in 2002, the defender arrived in London on Tuesday to finalize terms.
London Arrival for Bilbao Defender
The deal includes a fixed payment to the Basque club for the duration of the temporary arrangement. Boiro remains under contract with Athletic through June 30, 2029. During his time with the senior squad, he has appeared in 45 official matches, including a recent appearance against FC Barcelona earlier this campaign.
Late Window Pursuit From Europe
Before agreeing to the move to England, Boiro drew interest from other sides.

West Ham currently competes in the English second tier and aims to secure promotion back to the Premier League under the direction of manager Nuno Espírito Santo.
Streamlining the Basque Squad
With Boiro departing for England, the left-back position in Bilbao will be covered by veteran Yuri Berchiche and the versatile Johaneko, who earned recent minutes on the right flank against Barcelona and Celta Vigo.
Roots in Osasuna and Bilbao
Ibaigane originally secured Boiro from Osasuna’s reserve side in January 2024 by activating a two-million-euro release clause. After developing through Osasuna’s youth setup, the defender transitioned to senior professional football in the Basque Country before taking up his new challenge in English club football.
