Carabobo took three gold medals at the start of the judo of the final phase of the III National Communal Sports Games, as part of the competitions held in the gymnasium of the Sports Talent School of San Cristóbal, Táchira state. In the men’s category, the first to take the gold medal was Ezequiel Tarazona, who reigned in the -28 kg after beating César López from Apureño in the final by ippon.
The bronze medal in this division was shared by Jeancarlos Tovar de Miranda and Ángel Rincón from Bolivar. The Carabobo party was continued by Álvaro Matheus, who in the -31 kg final defeated the representative of the Lara state, Dubreiker León, by ippon.
In this division, the bronze medalists were Jonkeiber Pacheco from Mirandi and Niger Hernández from Bolivar. For his part, Greishkar Alvarenga reigned on the Andean tatami with his victory by ippon against Danielys Cárdenas de Yaracuy. The two third places were hung around the necks of María Barreto from Bolívar state and Desired Blanco from Tachira.
The day was completed with a gold medal for the states of Lara, Bolívar and Miranda respectively. Bethany Rodríguez, Lara’s representative in the -28 kg, took the honors in the final she played against the Bolivarian Victoria González, whom she beat by a golden point. Miranda’s Sarah Roman and Yuskeili Moreno from Yaracuy finished third.
One weight higher (-31 kg), Mariángel Hernández (Bolívar) took first place to beat Anni Solorzano de Miranda by ippon in her last duel. The bronzes were attributed to Estrella Montes (Carabobo) and Enyerlyn Pérez (Apure). Finally, for the men, Dylan Dicoto from Miranda celebrated the victory by a gold point against the Bolivarian José Mendoza, while the bronze was awarded to Luis Moreno from Falcón and Xander González from Apure.
