Misdemeanor Charges Filed in Green Bay
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs faces official criminal charges following an investigation into a domestic dispute at his home, according to court records from Wisconsin.
Wisconsin court records show that Jacobs was officially charged Thursday with two misdemeanor counts of battery and criminal damage to property. The legal development stems from an incident more than three months prior at his residence in Green Bay, according to judicial filings.
Penalties and Potential Jail Time
According to the criminal complaint, each misdemeanor charge carries a maximum penalty of a $10,000 fine or up to nine months in jail. If convicted on both counts, Jacobs faces cumulative financial penalties and jail time as determined by the court.

According to police records included in the filing, the woman involved told investigators that she looked at Jacobs’ phone and discovered he was communicating with other women. She reportedly grew angry and threw her phone, then told Jacobs he could look at her phone before instructing him to call a vehicle to take her to Chicago.
The dispute escalated when she attempted to retrieve her phone.
The complaint states that Jacobs did not return it, grabbed her arm, and engaged in a physical altercation that lasted for several minutes. Court documents indicate that Jacobs subsequently grabbed and threw her to the ground when she tried to leave the garage, resulting in a head injury.
Additionally, the complaint alleges that Jacobs failed to return one of her phones and damaged another device during the altercation.
NFL Scrutiny and Upcoming Court Date
The National Football League is conducting its own separate inquiry into the matter. League officials will determine whether to issue a suspension ahead of the upcoming season or wait until the legal proceedings conclude.
The Green Bay Packers acknowledged the situation on Thursday, confirming through team officials that the organization is aware of the charges filed against the running back.
Jacobs is scheduled for his initial court appearance on November 17.
