Finally Bosse-Zoff again at Dortmund and Bayern!
In a conversation with the “Funke Mediengruppe”, ex-Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (68) criticized BVB’s “business model” of signing big talents cheaply and early, training them and then selling them at high prices.

Rummenigge: “There was a youth craze in German football; far too many transfers were made to create a business model in which the players were later sold for a profit. Also here in Dortmund.”
It’s logical that BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke (64) doesn’t take long to ask. Watzke to the “Ruhr Nachrichten”: “I didn’t ask him for advice or an assessment. Some things you simply cannot judge from your Munich comfort zone.”

Sancho (2021/85 million euros), Haaland (2022/60 million) and Bellingham (2023/103 million) – these three players alone have brought BVB almost 250 million in transfer income in the last three years. Rummenigge: “The entire Bundesliga loses attractions” when such players leave the league.
Watzke defends BVB’s transfer philosophy. Watzke: “We have to make solid calculations because we are also required to invest intensively in the infrastructure.”
Nevertheless, Dortmund must also be accused of not having made optimal purchases, especially in this transfer summer. Nmecha (Wolfsburg), Füllkrug (Bremen), Bensebaini (Gladbach) and Sabitzer (Bayern) – four more or less seasoned Bundesliga stars – all still have room for improvement.
In the 1-1 draw in Leverkusen, Dortmund clearly showed that Borussia are not willing to say goodbye to the championship fight without a fight. In any case, Watzke is still aggressive.
