The tragedy caused a huge shock within the Gaston-Berger high school in Lille. The boy, suffering from a pathology in the heart, quickly loses consciousness and is lifeless on the ground. According to Vincent

An adult continued to pass through the rows to have the attendance sheet signed, while he (the victim of the illness) was still on the ground. He no longer spoke, was beginning to turn blue. A student got up anyway and put him in PLS. We said we had to call the emergency services. They left us 20 minutes (1) with him, without touching him, without being able to help him. »
According to the same witness, an education counselor (CPE) was called by the adults present: “The CPE came running, she called the emergency services. The young boy, who was already suffering from heart problems, was then taken care of by the firefighters and taken to hospital. He sadly passed away early in the evening.
