ASSE without two of its men in shape soon?

AS Saint-Étienne and more generally the French Ligue 2 championship are on rest this weekend, due to the international break. Nevertheless, for the reception of Niort in a week and a half, Laurent Batlles will not have his full group.

In effect, Thomas Monconduit received three cautions in a span of less than ten games. The AS Saint-Étienne midfielder therefore saw the disciplinary committee suspend him last week for the reception of Niort on Saturday April 1. Leo Petrot who was expelled at the end of the match in Le Havre will also not be in the game, he will serve his automatic suspension match. Two AS Saint-Étienne players are under threat of suspension. It’s about two in-form and decisive players lately: the left piston Niels Nkounkou and the club’s top scorer and assist striker Jean-Philippe Krasso. The latter will therefore have to be careful not to take a third yellow card synonymous with suspension.

Update on players under threat:

  • Jean-Philippe Krasso for another seven games
  • Niels Nkounkou for three more games

In addition, Cafaro, Sow, Wadji, Bamba, Lobry and Briançon have a card in progress.
