Giulia Grassia in an excellent position after the first round of the women’s trap – OA Sport

In Osijek, where the 2022 World Shooting Championships are underway, the qualifications of the senior women’s and men’s trap competitions have begun. As for the competition reserved for women, today the first of three rounds on the agenda was held: let’s see how things went on the Croatian platforms.

In front of everyone, after the first 50 targets available, there is the German Kathrin Murche who with 49 broken targets turned out to be almost perfect. Behind him, then, a ggroup of four athletes at an altitude of 48: the blue Giulia Grassia, who in detail crumbled 24 targets both in the first and in the second seriesthe French Carole Cormenier, the Puerto Rican Augusta Rose Campos-Martyn and the Chinese Xiaojing Wang.

Behind them un another set of 47/50 shooters, in which the second Italian in the competition is stationed, that is Alessia Iezzi (24-23), which is in the company of seven other competitors, including the Spanish Fatima Galvez, the Slovakian Zuzana Stefecekova and the Australians Laetisha Scanlan and Catherine Skinner.

Finally Jessica Rossi. The Emilian, due to a first series of only 21 targets, is late. In the second, hitting while hitting 23 of the 25 targets availablehas not been able to recover much, settling overall in 33rd position at an altitude of 44/50.

Tomorrow the second qualifying round. It will be interesting to see how things get mixed up before “Final lockouts” the day after tomorrow, when the preliminary rounds will be completed and the semi-finals and the finals will be played.
