no tricolor seed, a first in the 21st century

As at Roland-Garros, no French will be seeded at the Wimbledon tournament which begins this weekend.

This is a statistic that says a lot about the crossing of the desert of men’s tricolor tennis currently: there will be no French seed in the men’s table of the Wimbledon tournament this year. This had not happened since 1999. At Roland-Garros, already, the Blues were not among the top seeds. Ugo Humbert, Benjamin Bonzi, Arthur Rinderknech, Benoît Paire, Hugo Gaston, Adrian Mannarino, Richard Gasquet, Quentin Halys, Hugo Grenier and Enzo Couacaud will defend the French chances on the London lawn. The draw will take place this Friday.
