Judocas attend the selective and national concentration for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games

The regional judo selected that make up the high performance program of the Mindep-IND, traveled to the capital of the country within the framework of the national selection all competitor and youth, to later integrate the concentration in dependencies of the School of the Police of Investigations of Chile .
About this trip and its expectations, we spoke with sensei Reinaldo Figueroa, coach of the regional judo team who pointed out “we traveled with 7 athletes to Santiago, to participate in the national cap, where the national ranking will be defined. the Pan American 2023, and then the same athletes join the national concentration where the judocas will train two or three times a day, to begin to form the team that will represent us in these games, I am very happy that our athletes can represent Chile in these tournaments and I think we have very good chances ”.
Both the IND and the Sports Seremi highlighted the importance of this selection and valued the alliance between the Chilean Judo Federation and the PDI, allowing this concentration to be held with athletes from all regions of the country.
In this sense, Seremi Rodrigo Cubilla Retamal pointed out “this is a great opportunity for our judocas and together with the IND we have permanently supported the development of this discipline in the region, they are part of the Promises Chile Program that seeks to promote development towards high performance With a special focus on those who will participate in the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, this concentration will also be very useful, where each of the athletes will be evaluated, they will be able to train together with other delegations and make use of the PDI infrastructure as a gym , machine room, accommodation and casino ”.
Although the general objective of this concentrate will be to prepare the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, it will also allow to define the quotas for the Odesur Youth games that will be held in Rosario, Argentina, among other national and international tournaments.
