Team Quebec defeated the Joliet Slammers 7-1 thanks to a strong performance from Yordy Cabrera on the mound.
Cabrera pitched eight innings and struck out eight batters. He allowed only one earned run, four hits and two walks.
A former second-round pick with the Oakland Athletics, he earned his first win in two starts.
It was still 0-0 after four innings, but Tyler Depreta-Johnson opened the scoring with a single.
Team Quebec responded with a two-point triple from Louis-Philippe Pelletier to lead 2-1.
In the ninth inning, Quebec scored five more points against Tyler Jandron and Keaton Sullivan.
Jandron (0-1) allowed four runs, three hits and three walks in over eight innings.
The two teams will face off again on Wednesday.
