Tickets for the third edition of Premier Padel Gijón will officially go on sale Friday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m. The tournament is scheduled to run from March 1 to March 7, 2027, bringing top international padel professionals back to the Palacio de Deportes de La Guía in Asturias.
The event marks the return of professional padel to Asturias following a second edition in March that tournament organizers described as a consolidation of the venue on the international calendar. While the inaugural tournament faced an initial boycott by top male specialists, the subsequent event achieved what organizers termed a “historic double sellout” during its decisive final rounds.
Mayor Welcomes Return of Padel Tournament
Gijón Mayor Carmen Moriyón welcomed the return of the tournament, emphasizing the city’s established connection to the sport. Gijón has built a privileged space in the international padel circuit thanks to a singular tournament that the city has internalized as its own,
Moriyón said in a statement. I am sure that the 2027 Gijón Premier Padel edition will once again fill the stands of the Palacio de Deportes de La Guía.
Sports Councilor Jorge Pañeda noted that the event consistently demonstrates the city’s operational capacity to host international sports competitions at the highest level.
Promoter Outlook for the 2027 Circuit
Esedos Events, the promoter behind the competition, pointed to strong audience retention in previous years as the primary motivation for returning to Asturias. Joan Cuscó, president of Esedos Events, stated that scheduling another stop in Gijón remained a top priority following strong attendance numbers in 2025 and the subsequent season.
Returning to Gijón was a priority because of how they responded both in 2025 and last season, packing the stands of La Guía,
Cuscó said. Our relationship with the city and its citizens is excellent. We will enjoy ourselves together for another season.
The tournament forms part of the early-season schedule for the Qatar Airways Padel Tour, serving as a special stop at the start of the season for players competing on the global circuit.
