Pete Crow-Armstrong and Cody Bellinger Win 2026 MLB Platinum Glove Awards

Pete Crow-Armstrong and Cody Bellinger earned Rawlings Platinum Glove Awards for the 2026 Major League Baseball season, claiming the honors during the annual Gold Glove ceremony in New York. The recognition highlights the top defensive player in each league regardless of position, a milestone both players reached for the first time in their careers on Friday, Nov. 6, 2026.

The awards, which also honor the best defensive team in each circuit, were announced as the league continues its season of accolades. For further updates, fans can click here to view the latest MLB standings and results, or listen to their favorite programming on Unanimo Deportes Radio.

Dominant Metrics in the National League

Crow-Armstrong secured the National League Platinum Glove following a standout defensive campaign in center field for the Chicago Cubs. He led all of Major League Baseball with 26 Outs Above Average (OAA), marking his second season leading or co-leading the majors in that category. His total of 63 OAA since 2024 ranks second only to Bobby Witt Jr.’s 64.

In addition to his range, Crow-Armstrong accumulated 16 defensive runs saved (DRS), placing him in a tie for seventh among all big league defenders. The honor arrived directly on the heels of his second Gold Glove Award, a season in which he solidified his status as one of the most prominent center fielders in the majors.

American League Recognition for New York

Bellinger captured the American League Platinum Glove in his first season with the New York Yankees. The outfielder tallied 21 defensive runs saved, tying for the third-highest mark across the majors behind Wilyer Abreu at 28 and Brice Turang at 23.

The accolade represents the second Gold Glove of Bellinger’s career and his first since 2019, when he won the National League Most Valuable Player award with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bellinger joined JosĂ© Treviño (2022) as the only Yankees players to claim the Platinum honor since its creation in 2011.

Team Defenses Honored in Both Leagues

The ceremony also celebrated collective defensive excellence, with the Chicago Cubs taking the National League team award for the second straight year. The Cubs paced the majors with 72 Outs Above Average and 115 defensive runs saved, bolstered by Gold Glove seasons from Crow-Armstrong and Alex Bregman.

The Next Milestone on the Calendar

Crow-Armstrong enters the final weeks of the awards cycle as one of three finalists for the National League Most Valuable Player award alongside Shohei Ohtani and Brice Turang. Major League Baseball scheduled the announcement of the MVP winners for Nov. 12, 2026. While he has secured top defensive honors, voters have yet to decide if he will add the league’s highest individual offensive award to his historic campaign.
