ISG Sport Business Management Students Run Upsilon Basketball Camp

Students Take Operational Control of Upsilon Basketball Camp

Students enrolled at ISG Sport Business Management have taken direct operational control of Upsilon Basketball, an annual development camp that brings together professional players from the NBA, EuroLeague, Betclic Élite, Pro B, and the Pôle France, according to isg-sport.com reports. Created in 2021 within the Paris-based institution, Upsilon Basketball has become a recognized event in the basketball universe. The project was thought out and built by all the students, and presented to the camp’s two co-founders.

Founded in 2021 within the Paris-based institution, the camp functions as a full-scale educational case study. Rather than observing from a distance, enrolled participants handle day-to-day logistics, partner relations, scheduling, and digital communication throughout the week-long program. The week allows athletes to be supported from physical preparation through to training sessions.

Building Custom Apps and Managing Camp Logistics

Behind the scenes of the high-profile training sessions, student responsibilities span every layer of event execution. For certain students, the experience began well before the opening of the camp as part of a professional internship, allowing them to follow the project from its preparation to its completion. Louis, a second-year student, engineered a custom digital application designed to centralize weekly schedules for the coaching staff, athletes, and volunteers, addressing a critical coordination need.

First-year student Lilian contributed to the operational setup by producing the official welcome book for attending players while managing on-court media production and venue animations. Faculty member Charlotte shifted from upstream development to the communications team during the camp week, while institutional promotion manager Faustine oversaw high-level scheduling, VIP hospitality, and partner tracking.

Gala Matches and Crowds of 800 Spectators

The rigorous week culminates in a signature gala match that draws broader public attention and media exposure to the participating athletes, including professional standout Nadir Hifi. The most recent edition drew an attendance of more than 800 spectators to the venue.

A roster of student volunteers—including Farah, Marie, Calista, Axel, Flavien, Clara, and Tom—managed courtside operations, catering areas, and hospitality zones. Meanwhile, alumnus and instructor Noé provided professional videography and content creation expertise, anchoring the connection between current enrollees and school graduates.

Working Within a Collective

No mission can be carried out alone. The organizational framework requires participants to respect tight deadlines, prioritize competing operational demands, and maintain clear lines of communication across multiple stakeholder groups.

School administrators note that the initiative translates classroom theory into concrete professional reflex actions, allowing students to test event management, digital development, and public relations before entering the professional sports industry.
