Christian Walker and Matt Olson Claim Fourth Career Gold Gloves
Christian Walker and Matt Olson both secured their fourth career Gold Glove awards on Sunday, leading a group of standout defensive performers across Major League Baseball. Walker added the latest fielding honor to previous trophies he collected in 2022, 2023, and 2024, while Olson added to a resume that includes selections in 2018, 2019, and 2025.
Boston and Arizona Lead Franchises With Three Winners Each
The Boston Red Sox and the Arizona Diamondbacks paced all major league organizations by capturing three Gold Glove awards each. Boston right fielder Wilyer Abreu won the fielding honor for the third year, continuing a streak of defensive excellence in the outfield. Red Sox center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela earned the award for the second straight season, and third baseman Caleb Durbin claimed his first career Gold Glove.

In the desert, Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno captured his second career Gold Glove and his first since 2023. Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo and right fielder Corbin Carroll were both recognized with the defensive honor for the first time in their careers.
Multiple Winners and First-Time Recipients Across Both Leagues
Atlanta Braves utility man Mauricio Dubón secured his third Gold Glove, following previous nods in 2023 and 2025.

A fresh wave of talent also broke through for their inaugural Gold Glove selections.
SABR Defensive Index and Voting Mechanics
The annual balloting process is conducted among team managers and up to six coaches from each organization, who are explicitly barred from voting for players on their own roster. Since 2013, the voting formula has incorporated a specialized defensive index developed by the Society for American Baseball Research, which accounts for roughly 25 percent of a player’s total score. The utility category relies on a separate SABR formula alongside additional defensive metrics.
Individual accolades also triggered standard contractual performance bonuses for several recipients. Christian Walker earned a $75,000 bonus for his victory, Tanner Bibee pocketed a $50,000 bonus, and Brice Turang collected $25,000.
