Misiones Wins Medals Across Five Sports at Evita Games

Misiones collected medals in rhythmic gymnastics, judo, hockey, athletics and adaptive swimming on the third day of competition at the Juegos Nacionales Juveniles Evita in Mar del Plata, and both of its beach handball teams punched their tickets to Friday’s gold-medal matches, primeraedicion.com.ar reported.

The haul gives the northeastern Argentine province a strong platform heading into Friday’s medal-deciding sessions, with finals pending in beach handball plus bronze matches in rugby sevens and both 3×3 basketball divisions.

Friday’s Medal Matches: Rugby Sevens and 3×3 Basketball

Misiones will also chase bronze on Friday in three more disciplines. In rugby sevens, Tacurú beat Tucumán 19-10 and Entre Ríos 21-14 but lost 24-14 to Santa Fe, setting up a third-place match against Corrientes side Aranduroga.

In men’s 3×3 basketball, Tokio lost to Córdoba and will face Mendoza for third place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with Tomás Rocabert, Juan Pablo Almada, Primo Russo and Juan Ignacio De La Fuente, under Mariano Ledesma.
