Judo Club Rivas Qualifies Four Athletes for the National Championship in Lugo

Four athletes from Judo Club Rivas have qualified for the absolute national championship following their performances at the Madrid Absolute Judo Championship, which served as a preliminary sector phase for the Spanish Championship.

The final phase of the Campeonato de España Absoluto is scheduled to take place on November 28 in the city of Lugo, where the club will be represented by a four-athlete team.

Pablo Hiruelas and Luna Medel Secure Direct Qualification

Three competitors secured direct tickets to the national tournament by earning podium finishes at the regional competition in Madrid. In the male division, Pablo Hiruelas competed in the under-60kg category, reached the final, and won a silver medal to secure his direct qualification. Daniel Nieto finished fifth in the under-66kg category, while Mohamed Jazouli placed seventh in the under-90kg category.

In the female division, Luna Medel competed in the under-52kg category and won a bronze medal to secure her qualification. María Cabas earned a bronze medal in the under-70kg category through tactical performance on the tatami, securing the third direct pass of the event.

Nisrin Bousba Joins the National Delegation

Alongside the three medalists who qualified directly through the Madrid podium, Nisrin Bousba rounds out the delegation. Bousba will advance directly to the competition in Galicia without needing to compete in the sector phase, holding a reserved spot due to her status as the reigning Spanish Champion.

The coaching staff at Judo Club Rivas highlighted that the results reflect daily training, discipline, and effort. The club now prepares to represent Rivas Vaciamadrid at the state-level competition in Lugo with its four-member team.
