Jérémie Aubé Wins Three Canadian Archery Medals

Thirteen-year-old archer Jérémie Aubé of Drummondville captured three medals across three distinct disciplines at the Canadian Outdoor Archery Championship held in Woodstock, New Brunswick, journalexpress.ca reported. The competition drew more than 300 archers from across the country.

Aubé secured a gold medal in the field course event, added a silver medal in the target archery competition, and rounded out his performance with a bronze medal in the 3D target event. The tournament tests both the physical execution and mental focus required in the sport.

A member of the Le Sagittaire Archery Club in Trois-Rivières, Aubé trains under coaches Michel Sévigny and France Tétreault. He first took up the sport in 2010 at the Drummondville Archery Club.

Previous Competition Success and Equipment Support

Prior to his performance in New Brunswick, Aubé earned a bronze medal in the compound bow event at the Quebec Games held in Shawinigan, helping the Centre-du-Québec regional team finish fifth in the regional standings. During those games, his then-coach Sophie Houle of the Drummondville club noted his serious approach to training and his composure during competition.

Equipment for the young athlete is provided through sponsorship support from the Pronature store in Drummondville.

Future Aspirations in the Sport

Reflecting on their son’s athletic progression, parents Claire Thibodeau and Éric Aubé noted his long-term goals in the sport. “One of Jérémie’s desires is to see the compound bow become an Olympic sport and thus have the chance to represent Quebec and Canada proudly on the world stage,” they stated. “We believe he has very good chances of getting there.”
