“When you are well in your body, you are well in your head,” according to Aleksandra Gaudart, an organizer with the Service Info Jeunes (SIJ) of the Haute-Cornouaille community of communes. This philosophy serves as the foundation for the return of “Alors ! On bouge ?”, a physical activity initiative designed to help residents between the ages of 15 and 25 prioritize their overall well-being.
The program, which is a collaborative effort between the SIJ and the Judo Club of Châteauneuf-du-Faou, is scheduled to begin its latest session on November 12, 2026. Following an initial pilot phase held in April, this second iteration aims to provide a structured environment for young people to increase their physical activity levels while building social connections within the community.
Colette Dorval Launches Fitness Program for All Levels
The program is structured around two weekly meetings running from November 12, 2026, through the end of January 2027. Colette Dorval, coordinator for the SIJ, stated that the initiative is open to all applicants regardless of their current fitness level. There is no prerequisite for participation, allowing those who may have been inactive to start at their own pace.
The sessions will be led by sports educators Béatrice Rubeaux-Grandin and Pascal Razer. According to Dorval, the instructors will tailor the curriculum to the specific needs of the participants. The planned activities include muscular strengthening exercises, walking, and running, with the specific intensity and variety of the workouts adjusted to match the group’s collective ability.
Organizers Provide Transportation to Combat Social Isolation
Beyond the physical benefits, the project is designed to combat social isolation and boost self-confidence among participants. The initiative is organized in partnership with the Mission Locale Centre Ouest Bretagne (COB) and the Point Accueil Écoute Jeunes, reflecting a broader strategy to support the mental and social health of local youth.
To ensure the program remains accessible to all, the organizers have committed to providing transportation for participants who do not have their own vehicles.
