Galatasaray MCT Technic host Esenler Erokspor in Week 7 of the Türkiye Sigorta Basketbol Süper Ligi on Sunday, Nov. 8, tipping off at 18:00 local time (15:00 UTC) at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall in Istanbul, with the game broadcast live on beIN Sports 5, Galatasaray.org reported.
The matchup carries extra weight for the hosts: Galatasaray arrives on a two-game winning streak after an 87-74 road win over Yukatel Denizli Basket and will be looking to extend that run in front of its home crowd.
Galatasaray’s two-game streak was built on Smailagic and Metu
Two Galatasaray players reached double figures in the Denizli win. Alen Smailagic led all scorers with 20 points, and Chimezie Metu added 18. The rest of the rotation chipped in across the box score: Aleksej Nikolic 9, KJ Simpson 8, Şehmus Hazer 8, Berkan Durmaz 6, Oumar Ballo 6, Jerome Robinson 5, Dyshawn Pierre 4 and Buğrahan Tuncer 3, according to the club’s report.
Smailagic has been the team’s most consistent offensive option this season, averaging 13.5 points over his first six league games. Hazer trails him as the second-leading scorer at 12.67 points per game.
Esenler Erokspor arrives at 4-2 with two prolific scorers
The visitors are no pushovers. Esenler Erokspor has won four of its six league games and most recently lost 89-71 to Türk Telekom. The Istanbul side’s offense runs through Mike Davis Jr., who averages 18.33 points per game, and Dallas Moore at 18.0, per the club’s report.
| Team | Top scorer | Points per game | Second scorer | Points per game |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galatasaray MCT Technic | Alen Smailagic | 13.5 | Şehmus Hazer | 12.67 |
| Esenler Erokspor | Mike Davis Jr. | 18.33 | Dallas Moore | 18.0 |
What Sunday’s matchup hinges on
The contrast in the scoring tables sets up the central question: Esenler Erokspor’s two leading scorers both outpace anyone on Galatasaray’s roster on a per-game basis, but the hosts have the league’s current momentum. Whether Smailagic and Metu can match that firepower at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall will shape the Week 7 standings.
What comes next for Galatasaray
Whatever the result against Esenler Erokspor, Galatasaray’s next league assignment is a matchup against Biotekno Körfez Basket, which the club says it is already preparing for.
