Twenty-two young judoka from FSV Viktoria Brandenburg completed a week-long intensive training camp in late October 2026, combining rigorous athletic development with team-building exercises. The program, which ran from October 23 to October 29, focused on advancing technical skills while fostering cohesion among the club’s youth members.
Coaches Lead Demanding Sessions
The training sessions were led by state center coach Christin Scharlach, supported by instructors Eric Rinkes and Stefan Winkler. Additional instruction was provided by Jasmin Kootz and Lena Scharlach to ensure consistent supervision on the mats. According to club documentation, the intensity of the sessions exceeded expectations, with several participants voluntarily requesting extra practice time beyond the scheduled curriculum, demonstrating a high level of engagement with the sport.
DANs Oversee Belt Testing
The camp concluded with formal belt examinations overseen by Wolfgang Link, who holds a 6. DAN, and Stefan Winkler, a 3. DAN. The testing process required athletes to demonstrate techniques developed during the seven-day camp. The following promotions were confirmed:
- White-Yellow Belt: Lionel Kittel, Lionel Kämerer, Raphael Schulte, Wolfram Hübner, Felix Wittge, Leo Pohlmann, and Selena Kitzrow.
- Yellow Belt: Ngoc Thien Nhe Le and Sophie Kelm.
- Yellow-Orange Belt: Valerria Solotopova and Moritz Rinkes.
- Orange Belt: Fabienne Hüdig, Frieda Wilhelm, Anna-Lena Liese, Bela Fröhlich, and Eliah Fröhlich.
- Green Belt: Louis Hädecke and Annabella Fröhlich.
- Brown Belt: Domenica Schmidt.
The club recognized Anna-Lena Liese and Moritz Rinkes for achieving the highest examination scores during the event.
Activities Foster Peer Connections
Beyond the mat, the camp incorporated social activities designed to strengthen interpersonal relationships among the participants. The schedule included shared meals, game nights, and a group excursion to a local swimming pool. The week concluded with a community barbecue featuring a range of prepared dishes, serving as a social milestone for the club’s youth program. Organizers noted that these activities were intended to transition participants from being mere training partners to developing long-term peer support networks within the organization.
Future Club Activities
The FSV Viktoria Brandenburg training camp serves as a primary developmental checkpoint for the club’s youth athletes. Following the conclusion of the October sessions, the participants have returned to their regular training schedules.
