Tachibana Gakuen High School’s sophomore class completed a three-night, four-day school trip to Okinawa, according to notes published by the baseball club. Team members split into two groups for the excursion, with Group A traveling from October 19 to October 22 and Group B following from October 20 to October 23.
Students Visit Peace Memorial Museum and American Village
Upon arriving in Okinawa on the first day, students visited the Okinawa Peace Memorial Museum to view exhibits detailing the Battle of Okinawa during World War II. The tour included historical photographs alongside everyday items such as pots and bowls used by residents during the conflict. Following the museum visit, the groups traveled to American Village for free time, where students noted large crowds and purchased Orion T-shirts ahead of the second-day itinerary.
Taxi Tours Include Pottery Workshops and Island Landmarks
The second day featured taxi tours across the island coordinated with local drivers. A team representative documented trying pottery for the first time, noting initial difficulties with an uneven shape before receiving adjustments and advice from studio staff. Groups also visited Okinawa World, Shurijo Castle, and Kariyushi Beach during the day’s excursions.
Inclement Weather at Churaumi Aquarium
Inclement weather marked the third day of the trip as rain and strong winds struck the itinerary. Students visited the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium to view whale sharks and various shark species before participating in a souvenir raffle. The weather worsened upon arrival at Junglia, where heavy wind and rain forced attendees to seek indoor shelter. Park staff distributed umbrellas, offered indoor seating, and performed dances for visitors despite the storm.
Students Shop at Kokusaidori Street Before Returning Home
The final day brought light rain as students gathered at Kokusaidori Street for souvenir shopping and local food tasting before boarding return flights. Team representatives highlighted local specialties such as sata andagji among the final meals consumed before departure. The travel group returned to regular club activities as the final month of the season approaches.
