The Schwieberdingen judo department secured four team victories to capture the district championship title, capped by individual success at the South German U15 Championships and international competition in Slovenia, according to local club reports.
District Championship Triumph in Stuttgart and Surrounds
Schwieberdingen’s men’s judo team claimed the district league title after securing four match victories despite conceding an opening-bout disadvantage in every fixture due to an unfilled weight class. The squad defeated TSV Leinfelden 3–2, where Timm claimed a decisive victory over Roman Baur. The team subsequently swept all contested bouts against the combined team of Härtsfeld, Riesbürg, Elchingen, and Bopfingen. Rainer sealed one victory with an Ippon after just eight seconds, before the squad rounded off the competition by winning all contested matches against Randori Stuttgart to secure the championship trophy.
Gold Medal Success at the South German U15 Championships
While the senior men competed in the district league, the club’s under-15 competitors took to the mats at the South German Individual Championships in Heubach. Ivan secured a seventh-place finish, and Emil placed fifth in their respective categories. Alex dominated the opposition in the upper brackets, winning all of his matches to claim the tournament’s gold medal.
Civic Recognition and International Debut in Slovenia
The club’s competitive momentum followed a civic ceremony in Schwieberdingen on Friday evening, where municipal authorities honored local judoka for their athletic achievements over the preceding year. Fabian, Markus, Rainer, Philipp, Timm, Micha, Polina, Alexander, Alex Sch., Emil, Ivan, Neele, Nele, Annika, Janina, and Maria received official recognition for their training discipline and competition results. Meanwhile, Micha traveled to Slovenia to compete in the Koroska Open, where he finished fifth in his international division.
