The delegation from the Universidad de Guadalajara claimed four gold medals, one silver medal, and four bronze medals during the collegiate archery championships in Saltillo. According to Dr. Georgina Contreras de la Torre, Coordinator of Physical Culture for the institution, the collective showing pushed the university into second place overall in the national standings.
The tournament format brought together student-athletes from higher education institutions to compete in recurve and compound events. For the Universidad de Guadalajara, preparation and technical execution proved decisive across individual and team categories.
Gold Medal Performances in Recurve and Compound Divisions
Precision and coordination drove the university’s top-podium finishes. In the men’s recurve team category (Equipo Varonil Recurvo), Francisco Yamil Flores Aguilar and Osvaldo Ramírez Morales combined their skills to claim the gold medal.
The compound division yielded further titles for the delegation. Mitssi Lizette Mendoza Amezquita and Mariana Bernal Sánchez secured first place in the women’s compound team event (Equipo Femenil Compuesto). In the individual women’s compound competition (Individual Femenil Compuesto), Mariana Bernal Sánchez captured the gold medal, cementing her dominance in the discipline.
On the men’s side, Pablo Pérez Chávez triumphed in the individual compound category (Individual Varonil Compuesto) to take home the gold. Pérez Chávez also teamed up with André Leonel Oseguera Lomelí to earn a silver medal in the men’s compound team event (Equipo Varonil Compuesto).

Meanwhile, Mariana Bernal Sánchez and Pablo Pérez Chávez teamed up in the mixed compound team event (Equipo Mixto Compuesto) to collect another bronze for the university’s medal count.

The collegiate athletic calendar operates in structured phases. According to organizing bodies, the national university championships are divided into two distinct blocks. The first block encompasses 22 sports and runs through April and May, while the second block features 10 disciplines scheduled from September through October.
