Kawasaki Brave Thunders and Yokohama B-Corsairs Set for Ninth Annual Kanagawa Derby in B.League Premier

The Kawasaki Brave Thunders and Yokohama B-Corsairs will meet once again for the “Kanagawa Derby” during the upcoming Resona Group B.League 2026-27 B.League Premier regular season. Entering its ninth year, the fixture brings together the two neighboring clubs under the shared ambition of energizing basketball across Kanagawa Prefecture through high-intensity competition and joint fan initiatives.

Frontools and RECK Perform on October 31

The two-game series kicks off on October 31, 2026, featuring a blend of professional basketball and live artistic collaborations at the venue. The venue's lighting and special effects will diverge from standard matchday presentations during the sequence.

During the half-time break at roughly 19:00 on October 31, Frontools will collaborate with the Kawasaki-based urban sports mixed team “RECK.” Operating under DeNA as part of the Kawasaki Arena-City Project’s content development for the planned 2030 arena, RECK brings together breakdancing, double Dutch, and freestyle basketball performers. Yokohama B-Corsairs mascot “Ruby” will also make an appearance alongside Kawasaki mascot Roul.

Cheer Squads and Mascots Appear in November

Action continues on Sunday, November 1, with Frontools providing live musical accompaniment ahead of the 19:00 player introductions. Yokohama B-Corsairs cheerleaders "B-ROSE" will join Kawasaki's cheer squad, IRIS, on the court. Later in the month on November 16, Roul will travel to the Yokohama B-Corsairs' home game at Yokohama Buntoi to appear alongside Ruby.
