The TSG 1899 Hoffenheim shot-stopper, who served as Germany’s number one during World Cup qualifying matches in the absence of the injured Marc-André ter Stegen, has been left off the roster for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.
Speaking to the German publication, Baumann acknowledged contact with the new coaching staff regarding his status. „Ja, ich hatte mit ihm Kontakt. Alles Weitere wird er am Donnerstag sagen,“ Baumann told the newspaper, adding: „Das soll er dann machen.“””

During World Cup qualification under former coach Julian Nagelsmann, Baumann held down the starting role while ter Stegen recovered from injury. With a new managerial era beginning under Klopp, expectations point toward a reintegration of ter Stegen as the undisputed starter.
