According to tournament records, Caponetto, competing for Judo Virtus in the -78kg category, opened her tournament campaign with a decisive victory over Croatia’s Besker. She advanced to the semifinal round, where she faced Germany’s Schreiber. Following a hard-fought contest, Caponetto was stopped by Schreiber, shifting her path toward the medal rounds where she ultimately secured her place on the podium for Italy.
