Pamiers Archery Club Signs School Sports Convention Through 2030
The Compagnie d’Arc de Pamiers has formalized a partnership with local education authorities to promote archery in schools across the Ariège department, with the agreement running through 2030.
According to club president Eddy Gobbato, the convention was signed with the Direction académique de l’Éducation nationale de l’Ariège, the USEP 09, and the UNSS 09. This arrangement allows the club’s coach, Valentin Morlot, to conduct archery sessions in educational institutions throughout the department.
The initiative aims to introduce students to archery while supporting the club’s inclusion efforts. Gobbato highlighted that the Compagnie d’Arc de Pamiers maintains gender parity above regional and national averages, with 80 licensed members including 13 affiliated with the French Federation of Adapted Sports (FFSA).
Beyond school outreach, the club has resumed outdoor competition with the arrival of spring weather. Recent team events took place in Manduel, Gard, featuring both men’s and women’s squads. The women’s team included Aurélie C., Aurélie L.N., Virginie, and Marine under coach Jérôme, while the men’s team consisted of Valentin, Vincent M., Vincent D., and Christopher.
The club operates from two primary locations in Pamiers: the multisport hall at Rue du Foulon and the Las Parets archery field near the school cafeteria. The Rue du Foulon facility offers seven targets at distances of 12.5m, 18m, or 25m, while the Las Parets terrain accommodates up to 20 targets ranging from 10m to 70m.
Training schedules vary by season and participant group. From October to March, weekday sessions prioritize different skill levels: Monday evenings for adult beginners, Tuesday for youth competitors, Wednesday for adult competitors, and Thursday for FFSA-affiliated participants. Friday evenings feature open training, while Saturday programming includes youth development sessions in the afternoon and adult competitive training later in the day.
Through this school partnership, the Compagnie d’Arc de Pamiers seeks to expand access to archery while reinforcing its commitment to adaptive and therapeutic sports programs. The convention represents a long-term investment in youth engagement and community inclusion through the sport.
As the outdoor competition season progresses, the club will continue balancing school outreach initiatives with competitive training for its licensed members across all age and ability classifications.
