Eauze Judoka Elisa Zamparutti Wins Occitanie Regional Title
In a standout performance at the Occitanie regional judo championships, Elisa Zamparutti of the Judo Club d’Eauze secured the championship title in the benjamines category. The event, known as the Critérium Occitanie benjamines, took place in Mèze on April 21, 2026, bringing together top young judoka from across the Occitanie region for the highest level of competition in this age group.
The Judo Club d’Eauze had three athletes competing in the finals: Elisa Zamparutti, Elise Marie Diaz Claria, and Olivia Carraro. While Zamparutti emerged victorious, her teammates faced tough competition in the preliminary rounds. Elise Marie Diaz Claria and Olivia Carraro both competed valiantly but were eliminated during the pool stages, finishing in 15th place regionally according to club reports.
Zamparutti’s path to victory was marked by consistent dominance. Her coach, Camille Bourdie, highlighted her all-around excellence, stating that she dominated her opponents “technically, physically and especially mentally.” This assessment came after Zamparutti navigated through challenging matches, including a particularly intense third bout that tested her composure.
The victory capped off a strong season for Zamparutti, who accumulated eight first-place finishes, along with two additional podium placements (second and third place) throughout the competitive year. This consistent performance demonstrated her readiness for the regional championship challenge.
Following the competition, the Judo Club d’Eauze expressed pride in all three athletes, noting their dedication throughout the season. The club emphasized that several athletes, including Zamparutti, are preparing to transition to the minimes category for the upcoming season, representing a natural progression in their athletic development.

Upcoming activities include a community lottery scheduled for May 3 at the Hall des expositions in Eauze, and the Coupe de la Ville competition set for May 31 at the same venue, beginning at 9:30 AM.
