“Everyone stayed very positive,” said Abraham Toro, a Longueuil, Quebec native. “The mindset was, okay, that wasn’t our best game, but there are two confrontations [in the group stage] left. We corrected some things and we’ve played very well the last two games. We hope to keep our momentum going.”
Toro has been a key offensive contributor for Canada, currently batting .467 with three doubles, a triple, a home run and five RBIs. His performance has been crucial to Canada’s success in the tournament.
The United States boasts a powerful lineup, featuring Aaron Judge, the American League’s Most Valuable Player from last year, and Cal Raleigh, a potent catcher who finished second in the MVP voting. Their offensive firepower presents a significant challenge for the Canadian pitching staff.
