Presented as a new recruit for RFC Liège this Monday, Khadim Dieng will ultimately not join the Sang et Marine. The Liège club indicated that the transfer could not be finalized due to an inconclusive medical examination.
A real thunderbolt at RFC Liège. While the club thought it had found a replacement for Oumar Diouf with Khadim Dieng, this will ultimately not be the case. A real challenge for Matricule 4, which will for the moment have to continue its season with just one scorer, in the person of Frédéric Soelle Soelle.
“Following the medical examinations and tests carried out according to the usual procedure, these were not considered conclusive. The club is therefore forced not to continue with the player,” wrote RFC Liège in a press release.
Before adding: “RFC Liège wishes Khadim a speedy recovery and sends him all its support so that he comes back physically stronger for the rest of his career.”
RFC Liège was activated during this last day of the transfer window this Monday. In addition to Khadim Dieng, Victor Corneillie had also been announced as a new recruit. The French central defender has signed a contract until the end of the season.
Recruit a free scorer?
The only solution for RFC Liège to now recruit a new scorer would be to sign a player free of any contract, the transfer window having ended. Ending the season with just one number nine could prove complicated.
