Midfielders Matheus Pereira and Lucas Romero couldn’t hold back their laughter when asked in the mixed zone about the sudden departure of goalkeeper Cássio during the game between Cruise and Betim, last Sunday (1/2). The archer had to leave the field in a hurry to go to the bathroom.
The curious fact occurred just two minutes into the second half. Betim was preparing to take a dangerous free kick at the edge of the area when Cássio went to referee Murilo Misson Júnior to explain the physiological urgency.
The match was stopped for around four minutes. The goalkeeper returned to the pitch with a smile on his face, being greeted with jokes by his teammates.
In the mixed zone, Matheus Pereira commented on the situation.
“I had never seen this happen on the field, I had only seen it on the internet. But it can happen to everyone, right? It happened, he came back fine and everything is fine now”, said the midfielder, amidst laughter.
