Para Badminton: Preparation Review

PARA BADMINTON – THE team managers’ meeting for the Bahrain BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 was held yesterday ahead of the start of action today.

The gathering was a key organisational step towards the most significant international event in the history of Para badminton. Various technical and administrative aspects of the championship were discussed, including the review of approved regulations, the competition format, and the match schedule.

Additionally, the session covered logistical arrangements for transportation and accommodation, as well as medical and refereeing protocols, ensuring the event runs seamlessly according to the highest international standards.

The discussions also touched upon the management of competition flow within the courts, the organisation of warm-up and practice timings, and detailed explanations regarding athletes’ classification and categories to ensure fairness and equal opportunities for all participating teams.

This meeting was part of a series of co-ordinated sessions held prior to the official launch of the championships, which features an unprecedented participation of 54 countries and more than 500 participants. This event reaffirms the kingdom’s prominent status as a premier destination for hosting major international sporting events.
