Of course, it is worth noting that Rasmus Gemke unfortunately had to withdraw with an injury prior to today’s men’s singles final. This means that Magnus Johannesen can now call himself Danish champion for the first time. Congratulations to Magnus Johannesen and a speedy recovery to Gemke.
Mixed doubles: Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Bøje (1) – Kristoffer Kolding/Mette Werge: 19-21, 21-8, 17-21
The biggest sensation on the final day was the mixed doubles final. The young Hvidovre pair Kristoffer Kolding/Mette Werge delivered a magnificent piece when they defeated world stars Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Bøje in three intense sets.
The final opened evenly with changing initiative from the first ball. Kolding and Werge played freely and unimpressed against the world number nine and matched the national team pair in both pace and precision. It resulted in a close first set, which the Hvidovre duo won 21-19.
In the second set, the routine set in. Christiansen and Bøje raised the level significantly and dictated the game from start to finish. With a convincing 21-8 victory, the final was sent into a decisive third set.
Here, Kolding and Werge regained the high level and showed impressive mental strength. With brave and controlled play, they again took the initiative and could, after 21-17, be hailed as Danish champions at VICTOR DM 2026.
Kristoffer Kolding and Mette Werge can thus call themselves Danish champions in mixed doubles, while Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Bøje have to settle for silver.
Women’s singles: Line Christophersen (1) – Julie Dawall (3/4): 21-19, 21-12
Line Christophersen was already in distinguished company with six VICTOR DM titles in a row, but with the seventh triumph she cements her place among the greatest Danish women’s singles of all time.
In the final, the Skovshoved player faced national team colleague Julie Dawall. The first set was a close and watchable affair, where the margins could have fallen to both sides. However, Christophersen showed his DM routine in the decisive balls and drew the longest straw with 21-19.
In the second set, the DM queen settled heavily on the showdown. With a significant boost in both pace and confidence, she quickly took control and closed the final with a convincing 21-12 victory.
Line Christophersen can thus call herself Danish champion for the seventh year in a row, while Julie Dawall has to settle for the silver medal. Great performances from both of them the past three days in Sønderborg.

Women’s doubles: Signe Schulz/Simona Pilgaard (3/4) – Lærke Tolstrup Hvid/Anna Klausholm (3/4): 21-19, 14-21, 21-14
The women’s doubles final between Signe Schulz/Simona Pilgaard and Lærke Tolstrup Hvid/Anna Klausholm developed into a close and intense affair, with the former pair eventually drawing the longest straw.
The first set featured even play and long duels, without either pair really managing to create distance. The marginals fell Schulz/Pilgaard’s way, and they were able to take the first set with 21-19.
The second set followed the same close starting point, but here Tolstrup Hvid/Klausholm gradually gained the upper hand. With a solid boost in stability and pressure, they forced the final into a third and decisive set at 21-14.
The tension continued in the third set, but when it really escalated, Schulz/Pilgaard took control of the match. They pulled away towards the end and secured the DM title with 21-14 in the deciding set.
Signe Schulz/Simona Pilgaard can thus call themselves Danish champions in women’s doubles at VICTOR DM 2026, while Lærke Tolstrup Hvid/Anna Klausholm have to settle for the silver medal. Both pairs have played well and can travel from Southern Jutland with a good amount of confidence in their luggage.
Men’s doubles: Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup (1) – Kristoffer Kolding/Calvin Lundsgaard: 21-19, 21-15
In two sets, the first-seeded world stars Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup played their way to the DM gold at this year’s VICTOR DM, where they defeated the tournament’s comet Kristoffer Kolding and partner Calvin Lundsgaard in the final.
Earlier in the day, Kristoffer Kolding had won DM gold in mixed doubles together with Mette Werge, but in the afternoon’s men’s doubles final there was again opposition from the top shelf.
The young couple from Hvidovre and Greve put in a strong effort against the seasoned WC medalists, and in the first set Kolding/Lundsgaard followed along nicely all the way and caused problems for the favourites. However, the routine was decisive in the close situations, where Astrup/Skaarup drew the longest straw with 21-19.
In the second set, the former season finale winners left far less to chance. With controlled and efficient play, Astrup/Skaarup closed the final with 21-15, even though Kolding/Lundsgaard continued to maintain a high level.
Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup can thus call themselves Danish men’s doubles champions for the fifth time together, while Kristoffer Kolding/Calvin Lundsgaard take silver after a great week in Sønderborg.
With that, this year’s VICTOR DM is well over with five newly crowned Danish champions and a lot of fat feathers in Sønderborg.
