THE EAGLE. A latest generation 9-seater minibus and financial support for 30 families in difficulty who will not have to pay their child’s company fee. It is the “Nba Care” project, conceived and structured by New L’Aquila Basketball and realized thanks to the support of “EnelCuore“, the philanthropic organization of Enel Group.
“Nba Core”
With the support of “EnelCore”, Nuovo Basket L’Aquilano was able to benefit from fundamental support for the development of its activities aimed at the youth population of the Abruzzo capital. The minibus will be used to bring children from families who have problems accompanying them to the gym to PalaAngeli, as well as travel for the numerous children who attend basketball and mini-basketball activities and their related competitive commitments, for participation in events which are reserved for them every year. Furthermore, 30 fragile families, who enrolled their children in the Nuovo Basket L’Aquilano association, were exempted from paying club fees.
The presentation
Yesterday, February 6, the presentation of the “Nba Core” project, with the president of Nuovo Basket L’Aquilano, Roberto Nardecchia, the mayor of the Abruzzo capital Pierluigi Biondie di Andrea Valcaldamanaging director of “EnelCuore”.
«A city suitable for children and families – said Mayor Biondi – must offer the greatest opportunity to participate in sporting activities. We did it with vouchers to donate to families who have economic problems to be able to practice sport.”
Roberto Nardecchia added: «It is important because this project fits with our values, which are support for aggregation and sociality, the same ones that are of “EnelCuore”. Now “EnelCuore” we can say that it has become our partner, given that we have the same ideals and that they are important for the growth of the new generations”. Andrea Valcalda concluded: «We at “EnelCuore” feel part of a community that restarted with pride after the earthquake. It’s nice to also give our contribution through sport. We feel excited to give our support and we are proud of it. Sharing and health are important for a community that has demonstrated great resilience. We must support fragile families not to fall behind and not take on transport costs.”
